If you follow Canton's SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy, its closure is on hold for now. Hinds County Chancery Court Judge Tametrice Hodges-Linzey granted the school a temporary restraining order on Monday against the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board, pausing revocation efforts for at least a month. The board had voted Oct. 26 to revoke the charter, effective Dec. 31.

The board cited a failure to meet generally accepted standards of fiscal management. The school's attorney, Jamie Travis, argues board members didn't adequately prove mismanagement and wouldn't wait for the audit. He said it lacked serious findings.
