- ➤ Roadie the black kitten was rescued from underneath a car in Jackson when his tail got caught in the fan belt—he lost part of his spine and skin but now has a new owner and is healing at the new Downtown Jackson shelter with full recovery expected in two weeks. WAPT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Jackson officials announced Monday that repairs began at the zoo to fix long-standing water leaks—problems that have led to millions in unpaid bills. Wicker Construction focused on repairing one major leak and will address smaller leaks to complete the repairs. Mississippi Today
- ➤ A mass prayer was held on October 20 at Greenwood Cemetery to protest Medicaid cuts and urge senators to reverse the bill. Organizer Dr. Scott Crawford—leader of Repairers of the Breach—said the protest aimed to spotlight the deadly impact the cuts could have on health care. WAPT
