  • Ingalls Shipbuilding delivered the guided-missile destroyer USS Ted Stevens (DDG 128) to the U.S. Navy on Dec. 29 in Pascagoula. This delivery marks the second Flight III destroyer from Ingalls as it accelerates production of more advanced vessels for the fleet.  FOX 40

  • The Mississippi State Department of Health released its 2025 baby name statistics today, showing James as the top name for boys (163 names) and Amelia for girls (113 names). Liam fell to sixth place despite the release of a new Naked Gun movie.  WLBT News

  • The Mississippi State Department of Health released the top baby names for 2025, naming James (163) as the top choice for boys and Amelia (113) for girls.  WAPT
  • Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves announced the state will receive about $206 million from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to boost rural healthcare in remote areas. The funding aims to improve care access and strengthen the health workforce for quality services by 2031.  FOX 40
  • Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves announced Monday that the state was awarded $205,907,220 through the Rural Health Transformation Program to boost rural healthcare, aiming for reliable access by 2031. Local experts helped shape the plan to strengthen the state’s health workforce.  WLBT News
