  • Local thrift stores have seen a busy holiday season as shoppers choose secondhand gifts amid high retail prices. Owners Randy McDonald and Hallie Brand said Gen Z and Millennials are reshaping store views and expect more donations — a trend that could boost local small businesses.  FOX 40

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Councilman Kenneth Stokes wants answers on the $1.3 million Grove Park renovation in northwest Jackson. The park closed in January and now looks run down; if funds are available, new concession stands, a pavilion, and pickleball courts will be built to revive its historic role.  FOX 40

HEALTH NEWS

  • ACA subsidies expire January 1 so residents face a 41% rise in premiums; a family of four will pay about $275 monthly for a bronze plan, Mississippi Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney said as experts warn 200,000 may lose coverage.  FOX 40
