  • Contractor Wishaund Hopson is renovating a vacant house on Princeton Street with help from the Jackson Youth Build program to give local teens and young adults trade skills for rebuilding West Jackson neighborhoods. EDUCATION NEWS

  • A report from the Institutions of Higher Learning board showed that enrollment at Mississippi public universities increased by 2.7% this fall compared to last year, with The W gaining 2,371 students for its largest growth in over a decade and Delta State increasing by 5.2%—including a 38% jump in freshman numbers. The report also noted mixed results for historically Black universities, with Jackson State rising by 2.2% while Alcorn State saw a small decline, prompting plans to improve student retention and outreach for the upcoming class.  FOX 40
  • Callaway High School Men's Chorale performed on Veterans' Day to honor military veterans in Jackson — the group sang at a local ceremony that recognized the sacrifices of those who served. Their performance offered a heartfelt tribute that brought the community together.  WLBT News

  • The Hinds County Board of Supervisors honored veterans on Veterans Day with a wreath ceremony held Tuesday morning at the Hinds County Circuit Courthouse on Pascagoula Street in Jackson. The event featured four wreath dedications, a 21-gun salute and remarks from Master Sgt. Luis Vargas + Maj Gen.   • Court documents show that many Jackson residents have struggled with high JXN Water bills and shut-off notices, leaving families unable to cover reconnection costs.
