- ➤ A local sorority chapter partnered with the Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health and the Ebony Pearls Foundation to host a suitcase drive for unhoused residents, with cars lining up outside The Ivy Pointe in Jackson on Sunday afternoon to drop off new and gently used suitcases—these will be donated to Shower Power next month and donations can be made until Nov. 20. - ➤ At least one Jackson restaurant may soon earn a Michelin star. Jackson President and CEO Rickey Thigpen said on Monday that chef Chaz Lindsay of Pulito Osteria has been invited to the Michelin Restaurant Guide ceremony in Greenville on November 3 — a move that could bring Jackson its first national culinary honor. - ➤ Jackson State alumnae and artist Christopher Windfield painted new postage-themed murals in the JSU mailroom that honor figures such as Jackie Robinson and Malcolm X.
