- ➤ In West Jackson, two pit bulls were found chained outside a vacant home without food or water and were rescued by local resident Mildred Dover — neighbors had been feeding them while urging the city to act. Dover adopted the dogs and moved them to a new home next door, and city officials planned to form an Animal Control Task Force as the facility has been closed for nearly four years. FOX 40

- ➤ Today, the City of Jackson hosts its first CleanJXN Gateway Beautification Day—community members and city staff will work together to clean up and improve local parks and streets. WLBT News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ WLBT and Gray Local Media have expanded the access to New Orleans Pelicans games for the 2025-26 season—now DIRECTV streaming, satellite, and U-verse customers in Jackson and across the three-state territory will be able to watch non-national games. The Pelicans will open the regular season on October 22 when they face the Grizzlies at 7 p.m., with the game set to be simulcast on WLBT 3.3 and the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network. FOX 40
