GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Jackson City Council will vote on an ordinance that requires a $25 permit for panhandling—supporters say it will bring order while critics argue it unfairly targets the vulnerable—and the measure limits solicitation hours and imposes penalties of up to six months in jail and a $300 fine for violations.  WAPT
