CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two suspects—Jordon Crawford, 21, and Mason Pearce, 18—were denied bond on Wednesday after police linked them to a birthday party shooting on Dogwood Trail on August 30 that killed 48-year-old Roosevelt Denson, Jr. and resulted in the hospital death of 26-year-old Zacchaeus Johnson, with recovered weapons and surveillance video showing both men in hoodies. - ➤ Interim Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard confirmed Wednesday night that a person was found dead in a Super 8 hotel room on the 6000 block of I-55 North Frontage Road in Jackson—he ruled the death natural. FOX 40
- ➤ A driver identified as 28-year-old Dwayne Mable died when his vehicle crashed on West Northside Drive near Edwards Avenue after he fled Capitol Police at 9:17 p.m. on Monday—Mississippi Highway Patrol will investigate the crash. FOX 40
- ➤ Two juveniles were arrested by Capitol Police after more than 20 vehicles were burglarized at Belhaven University and Millsaps College (a stolen vehicle was also recovered on Pear Orchard Road) early Tuesday. WAPT
- ➤ Residents in Jackson expressed concern after Labor Day weekend violence—three people were killed and six injured—and they called for more police presence in hotspot areas to improve safety. FOX 40

- ➤ A Mississippi family is using artificial intelligence to preserve the voice of their son Robert Noah, who died in a car crash on Highway 7 between Jackson and Oxford one year ago, to urge the state to install rumble strips for highway safety.
