  • The Brandon Police Department is investigating a Sunday shooting (Aug. 10, 3:34 p.m.) at the 500 block of Luckney Road that injured 41-year-old Eddie Wooten and sent him to a local hospital; detectives ask anyone with details to call if they saw the incident (potential reward up to $2,500).  WLBT News
  • On Aug. 1, police responded to a shooting at a Shell gas station on Robinson Street—where the victim, Shawn L. Crenshaw, died from multiple gunshot wounds—and on Aug. 8, officers charged suspect Corey McLaughlin with his murder.  FOX 40
  • Jackson Police Department and Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers asked residents for help in solving a murder cold case after officers responded to a crash on the Interstate 20 West ramp near Ellis Avenue on Aug. 10 where Sentrell Kelly, driving a maroon Buick Roadmaster, suffered fatal gunshot wounds—tips that lead to an arrest may earn up to $17,500 in rewards.  FOX 40
  • Homes in the area of Dorgan Street and Belvedere Drive were damaged after a shooting occurred overnight—Jackson Police are investigating the incident that happened early on Sunday morning.  FOX 40
  • Brandon Police are investigating a shooting on the 500 block of Luckney Road where 41-year-old Eddie Wooten was injured and taken by a private vehicle to a local hospital—detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Investigations Division at 601-825-7225.  WAPT
