On Aug. 8, Capitol Police responded to a bank robbery at Cadence Bank on Canton Mart Road, but the suspect had fled—officers are now gathering witness statements and searching for leads.

On August 8, the Mayor's office explained the large pothole on Denver Street in North Jackson was caused by a persistent water leak from a nearby apartment complex — City Public Works will wait to fully repair the street until the leak is fixed.

Yesterday at 2 p.m., Mayor John Horhn held a press conference at Blossom Apartments in Jackson to address the water crisis and recent eviction order + he explained the city's plans to support the complex's residents.

Water is temporarily restored at Blossom Apartments to give tenants more time to relocate after U.S. District Judge Henry Wingate ordered the service restored at Mayor John Horhn’s request.

The Mississippi Home Corporation will extend the deadline until Tuesday—when Stewpot Community Services will host a meeting to help residents find new homes.
