A multi-vehicle crash on I-220 near Watkins Drive at about 2 a.m. on Monday left one woman, identified as Mikayla Smith, dead and injured her 8-year-old son who was taken to a local hospital.

Two men were arrested for murder in Jackson after LaJarvis Ruffin was fatally shot on June 19 in the 5600 block of Shaw Road — Grejuan Allen faces charges for murder, armed robbery and house burglary with a $1.6 million bond while Jederrion Walton faces a murder charge with a $1 million bond.
