- ➤ A federal judge ruled that Mississippi may proceed with the execution of death row inmate Richard Gerald Jordan — scheduled for June 25 — after his request to delay the event was denied. Jordan, 79, was convicted of kidnapping and murder in 1976, and the judge ordered the state to contact the court if the first drug does not work. FOX 40
- ➤ JPD is asking for the public’s help to identify a burglary suspect seen on June 11 at 1:30 a.m. on Carolwood Drive, where he was caught on video breaking into a truck and is known to visit the area twice a month between 1:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.—he wears blue shorts and a blue t-shirt, gloves, and high-top tennis shoes with red soles and is known to search residents’ mailboxes. - ➤ A man shot two women at the Windsor Court apartments in Yazoo City on Sunday morning and is now in custody — both victims were taken to hospitals, with one airlifted to a Jackson hospital, police chief Terry Gann said. FOX 40
