  • The LeFleur East Foundation spent $200,000 in the past nine months to upgrade Parham Bridges Park by adding new pickleball courts, resurfacing tennis courts and building a wooden privacy fence with a new gate to improve security. The foundation will work with city and county partners to repair the collapsed trail bridge and repave the parking lot — efforts that aim to make the park safer and more welcoming for residents.  FOX 40

  • A 3-year-old was hospitalized in critical condition at UMMC in Yazoo County after sustaining a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head when the toddler accidentally discharged a gun early Saturday morning—authorities recovered the weapon and the investigation remains ongoing.  WAPT

  • A federal judge will decide early next week on a motion that could delay the state’s planned execution of 79-year-old inmate Richard Gerald Jordan using a three-drug protocol—attorneys warned that the lack of a strict consciousness check could risk severe pain at the time of lethal injection.  FOX 40
  • Capitol Police are searching for a suspect believed to have attacked a person at Poindexter Park following a shooting at 10:12 a.m. on Friday, and officers reported the suspect was seen leaving on a blue bicycle wearing a white shirt and blue pants toward Rose Street while urging anyone with information to call Capitol Police at 601 359 3125.  FOX 40
