- ➤ A Jackson 4-year-old named Kareem Meek had his wish granted by Make-A-Wish when he learned on Thursday he would meet Spider-Man and go to Disney World — Members Exchange Federal Credit Union helped fully fund the special trip. Meek, who was diagnosed with sickle cell disease in 2021, will leave for Disney World by the end of June as his family celebrates his bravery. WAPT
- ➤ Since April, residents at Chapel Ridge Apartments have not been paying rent after a notice on the leasing office door asked them to wait for a new property manager, and the complex has faced trash buildup, unpaid water fees, and theft. - ➤ Governor Tate Reeves announced on Thursday a grant program to boost AI and machine learning that awards $1.3 million to Jackson State University, $1 million to Millsaps College, and $723,000 to Mississippi College as part of the new Mississippi AI Talent Accelerator Program — the funds were chosen from a $20 million pool of requests. Additional colleges, including Alcorn State, Belhaven, Mississippi State, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Tougaloo College, also received funding to help train Mississippians for future jobs.
