- ➤ On June 10, the Junior League of Jackson donated $100k to the Foundation for Mississippi History for the future Margaret Ann Crigler Park in downtown Jackson. The planned park, located next to the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, will offer green space, a play area, and an outdoor stage—supporting community connection to history and nature. - ➤ A 33-year-old Jackson woman, Carrie Lotasha Fields, was fatally shot Tuesday morning on Jayne Avenue and police arrested 28-year-old Andrew Sawyer Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in connection with a domestic dispute — officers are still searching for a second suspect. FOX 40

- ➤ Councilman Ashby Foote appears headed for a third full term in Ward One after officials counted 1,739 votes compared to 1,731 for Grace Greene and 1,716 for Jasmine Barnes—one mail-in ballot was removed after a ballot error. Officials are still processing absentee ballots as of 11 a.m. WLBT News
- ➤ The state legislature passed House Bill 602 that will require seafood and crawfish sold in stores, markets, restaurants or food trucks to be clearly marked as domestic or imported starting July 1—customers can know exactly what they are buying. The Mississippi Departments of Marine Resources and Agriculture and Commerce will enforce the law—helping ensure local fishermen and consumers receive the quality they expect. FOX 40
- ➤ Jackson mayor-elect John Horn is expanding his Transition Team by naming eight new at-large members (including State Rep. Zakiya Summers and State Sen. Sollie Norwood) and appointing Carol Palmer and former Tougaloo College president Dr. Beverly Hogan as co-chairs.
