  • The State of the People power tour visited Jackson to boost voter empowerment among the African American community — local groups served hot meals and urged young people to vote. The tour will leave town Saturday.  FOX 40

  • Two council candidates—Ron Aldridge and Kevin Parkinson—say public safety is their top priority as they campaign to replace incumbent Councilwoman Virgi Lindsay.   • Councilman Vernon Hartley said a broken valve at the former Metrocenter Mall has leaked water for months and urged JXN Water to cap the leak—arguing the loss weakens water pressure for homes, schools, and businesses.  FOX 40
