- ➤ Life Church in Brandon hosted its annual crawfish boil Sunday, drawing nearly 200 guests with 430 pounds of crawfish, hamburgers, and hot dogs while holding a cake auction to support youth summer camps. Tonia Hornsby said the event continues a 20-year tradition of fellowship and welcomes new visitors. WAPT
- ➤ Residents donated new pillows and pillowcases at Ivy Pointe (on I-55 Frontage Road) yesterday as part of the Hearts for Pretty Dreams pillow drive that aids local shelters. A second drop-off is planned Thursday, June 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. WAPT

- ➤ Residents in the Carver Street area expressed concern after two trees fell on homes and one marked with a white + X remains despite plans for removal. Councilman Kenneth Stokes held a press conference Sunday to urge city leaders to act swiftly and prevent further damage. WAPT

- ➤ Mississippi State hit seven home runs and scored 19 runs to defeat Louisiana 19-5 in Starkville on Sunday night. The Bulldogs now head to the Athens Super Regional (where they will face 3-seed Georgia). WLBT News
- ➤ Mississippi State Bulldogs advanced to the Super Regional after beating Louisiana 19-5 in Starkville and will face No.-3 Georgia in Athens, while Ole Miss Rebels won in extra innings against Arizona State and now wait for Auburn or Milwaukee to determine host conditions. WAPT
- ➤ Ole Miss walked off Arizona State at Haymarket Park on Sunday night in the tenth inning to win the Lincoln Regional by a score of five to four, and the Rebels will await the Auburn Regional winner in the Super Regionals. WLBT News
