- ➤ The Opportunity Center in Jackson received a surprise when volunteers from Maymont Homes— a regional rental company with over 700 homes— beautified the shelter yesterday by refurbishing its gardens, repainting walls, and installing a new handicap ramp. - ➤ An investigation is underway after an unidentified man was reportedly shot early Wednesday morning on the 600 block of Freemont Street in Jackson—he was seen being loaded into an ambulance. WLBT News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A boil water notice has been issued for Florence and Cleary in Rankin County after a directional bore broke a water pipe — emptying a 150,000-gallon water tower and causing a car-sized sinkhole — which washed out part of a road. Repairs were completed Monday by 8:00 p.m. and service was restored by 9:15 p.m., and the notice will remain in effect until May 26 at 11:59 p.m. WLBT News
