- ➤ Mississippi is the first state to join a federal effort called Operation Hope to find missing foster children; Attorney General Lynn Fitch & Child Protection Services said 13 children were recovered and the program will serve as a model for similar efforts later. SuperTalk Mississippi Media
- ➤ The Medgar Evers Library closed on Monday when indoor temperatures reached 81 degrees, forcing visitors to use the nearby Fannie Lou Hamer Library. The city will begin installing a new HVAC system in June — expected to be complete by early July — to restore full services. WLBT News
