- ➤ Authorities have issued a Silver Alert for Jackson woman Hannah Davidson, who was last seen on April 23 at 10 a.m.—she was in the 1000 block of I-55 North wearing a black shirt, denim jeans, and black sandals, and her family said she suffers from a health condition that may impair her judgment. - ➤ K9 Tank was injured by shrapnel during a shootout with Capitol Police near I-55 and McDowell Road and received swift treatment at MSU College of Veterinary Medicine—veterinarians and technicians cared quickly for him while fellow officers supported his care—he was discharged after an overnight ICU stay and is now recovering. - ➤ JXN Water will likely raise rates soon because a 2022 court order gives the Interim Third-Party Manager the power to set new rates after the council rejected the request. The manager must give a notice period of 30 days and post the change as state law requires — the city may still dispute the increase if it wishes. FOX 40
- ➤ On April 22nd, Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba conceded his loss to state Sen. John Horhn in the primary runoff after receiving 5,940 votes to Horhn’s 17,729—he vowed to keep working for Jackson by protecting key city assets like the airport and water system. FOX 40
