CULTURE NEWS

  • Jackson hosted the fifth annual Couch Fest on Friday and Saturday at Urban Fox, showcasing local and regional DIY punk rock bands and a backyard art market + uniting music fans and artists in a lively celebration.  WAPT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Over 70 student entrepreneurs from four cities showcased and sold creations at Market Day in Jackson as part of the Choose to Grow Afterschool Program (which pairs students with mentors). The event followed a Shark Tank-like competition in March and offered local youth a chance to build self-sufficiency.  WLBT News

HEALTH NEWS

  • ANPA held its annual outreach event on Saturday at Mount Galilee Missionary Baptist Church on Julienne Street, offering free medical, dental, vision, and social services (help with housing, employment, and legal issues) to over 100 residents with support from local partners like UMMC Family Medicine and Jackson Free Clinic.  WAPT
