- ➤ Jackson police said a suspect killed a man on McDowell Circle at 3:30 p.m. Sunday then went next door and killed a woman who refused to hide him—two stolen vehicles were recovered and 36-year-old Jarvis Anderson was arrested and will face double homicide charges. WLBT News
- ➤ Kendrick Stubbs used a fake $19,000 check on March 12 at Walmart on Greenway Drive to buy a blue 2024 Honda Accord and then sold it on Facebook Marketplace on March 13 for $8,500 before following the buyer home to steal the car—he now faces felony auto theft, false pretense, and embezzlement charges. - ➤ After bad weather hit Jackson early Sunday morning, damage reports showed downed trees in 12 areas and power outages, and city leaders warned residents to stay away from power lines near a sinkhole at Westhaven. Police began clearing roads at 7 a.m.—the Fire Department answered 27 calls—and Mayor Lumumba declared a citywide emergency while working with the Incident Management System on flood safety at the Monument and Gallatin viaduct.
