  • Jake Mangum, a well-known Mississippi State player, spent five seasons in the minors and is now hoping to earn a spot on the Rays' major league roster. He hit .429 in spring training and recently hit two home runs during a game—his chance to start the season in the majors remains uncertain.  Mississippi Today
  • Mississippi College hired Josh Brooks as its new head men’s basketball coach—replacing Randy Bolden, who went 43-69 over four seasons.
