- ➤ Country music star Jason Aldean will perform at Brandon Amphitheater on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. as part of his Songs About Us Tour 2026, with tickets available from Friday, Mar. 6. WLBT News
- ➤ The Mississippi Gem and Mineral Show returns this weekend at the Mississippi Trade Mart. It runs today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring over 25 vendors (with live geode cracking and jewelry making) for rock and gem fans. WLBT News
- ➤ On Friday, the Jackson Association of Black Journalists hosted a Black History Month event at The Two Mississippi Museums featuring Reuben Anderson, the first black Mississippi Supreme Court Justice and UM Law graduate. He led fundraising for the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. WAPT

- ➤ Margaret Walker Alexander Library offers free one-on-one computer classes that teach essential skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel and internet safety. - ➤ The Army Corps of Engineers unveiled a new initiative to boost flood control along the Pearl River. The plan will roll out soon to protect local communities and infrastructure from future floods + lay the groundwork for further improvements. WLBT News

- ➤ UMMC said that clinics statewide will reopen Monday after a Feb. 19 ransomware attack forced a system shutdown (hospitals and emergency departments remained open) and they will extend hours to help reschedule cancelled appointments while the FBI investigates the incident. Mississippi Free Press
