  • Amazon donated 1,000 doorbell cameras to the Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Jackson to boost security + safety measures for vulnerable individuals, supporting the coalition’s ongoing efforts to assist survivors.  WLBT News
  • Animal Rescue Fund of Mississippi is asking for donations and foster homes after rescuing 10 abandoned puppies found near a stop sign nearly three days after being left outside. The four-week-old puppies are receiving treatment for fleas and have started deworming medication at the organization’s clinic.  WAPT

  • At Monday's Stennis Capitol Press Forum, Mississippi Development Authority director Bill Cork said the state logged over $21 billion in investments in 2025 and announced a $20 billion xAI deal earlier this year; he noted initiatives to convert lower-wage jobs to higher-skill careers and to review data centers individually.  Mississippi Today

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Mississippi environmental officials will hold a public hearing on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. at Northwest Mississippi Community College (DeSoto campus) in Southaven to review a permit for 41 new xAI turbines that may emit VOCs, nitrogen oxide, and carbon monoxide.
