- ➤ Toby Price, a former assistant principal at Gary Road Elementary, celebrated his Court of Appeals victory overturning his 2022 firing for reading 'I Need a New Butt!' to second graders. He will negotiate reinstatement & back pay with Hinds County Schools in chancery court in two weeks. WAPT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ SNAP benefits will be replaced automatically for eligible clients in 15 counties hit hard by Winter Storm Fern, with new funds expected in the coming weeks. Clients in 28 other counties must apply by Feb. 23 to receive replacement benefits (for those with outages over four hours). Mississippi Today
- ➤ At the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument in Jackson, superintendent Keena Graham said that brochures describing Medgar Evers’ killer as a racist have always been available despite reports of their removal.
