- ➤ Mississippi will launch a new obstetric system of care on Feb. 13 to lower infant and maternal mortality. The state will designate hospitals by care level and use patient tracking — a $1.5 million project funded in the 2024 legislative session — to expedite transfers for high-risk mothers.
